Awesome and informative!!! I had a used, but PRISTINE, '86 250R that I eventually sold. Who was to know back then? 😢😡😂 Man I sure wish that I had kept it forever. I would have it on display in my living room right now.... it was literally in that good of condition even though I rode it hard and put it away wet many times!!!! My uncle had this bike when i was 14. I had an xr100 at the time. He let me ride it, my first 250 ride. I really really liked it. It just did what i thought it would. And compared to my xr100 it was worlds better.

Imagine racing for your highschool back in 1980 and racing a KX 80 for 4 years I did just that at John W North high in Riverside California I got riding gear from SR Kenny Roberts himself a set of Scott boots and red and black leathers along with riding instructions on how to breath when racing working for Malcolm Smith Motorsports in highgrove California my 1980 KX 80 kicked some As. Do to Kenny Roberts turning it and my dad reworking the head guys with the new 84 KX 80 I smoked them they would laugh at me for an out of date dirt bike but I had the last laugh me and my friends of that time got to ride with Kenny Roberts Malcolm Smith Bob hurricane Hannah too tall Mike Bell and Jeff Ward and many others f we had a blast

Bob raced 125's in '77. The infamous 'Let Brock bye' dealio happened that year. He raced another season on 125's after his run in with Howerton, post broken leg. Then, of course, his triumphant desNations appearance at Unadilla. Thanks for sharing your collection!

Love this video. Thank you! Had an 86 and 87. The difference in engine vs ATC 250R was due to a taller head gasket if I remember correctly. Easily able to swap them out. Sent the 86 tip end to Paul Turner who personally ported and polished it. Added his hand built mid range pipe and fat boy silencer. Was an incredible machine.

Please do couerage on both the husaberg 2 strokes &husaberg 4 strokes too.

I raced a 1990 CR 125. Best motor ever. But, you couldn't get the HEADSHAKE out of it. Best and worst 125 I ever raced.

They never been yellow since 1884 now it is 2024 soon to be 25 and I have not seen a yellow one since 84

Miss my 80 XR200 to this day. I had more fun on that bike than any other dirt bike I ever owned. The light weight and forgiving nature of the engine made it a dream out in the bush.

My dad had one of the xr250s and I learned to ride on it as a kid, before that my first 4 wheeler was a early model Blaster with a twist throttle conversion and it was pretty damn quick!

Honda XR 75

Won a District 6 Championship on a 1984 model. I ran the bike in 1985 as well and never had a DNF in 36 motos over that 2 year span. It was a great bike and it is still in my stable of bikes.

What shocked me was the change of color from yellow to white to blue wow they were white before they were yellow way long ago back in the beginning ❤ I missed the yellow 1️⃣💛💙❤ blue is All right with me yeah Honda has always been red. Kosaki have been green. Suzuki have been why don’t we make them all different colors instead of the colors there are now

I always thought the kx looked the coolest but my dad wouldn’t let me spend an extra 100 bucks for it. Had to settle for a brand new 85 cr80. What a dependable bike. Rode it two years never even removed the spark plug once. Always started first kick. Solid machine. Typical Honda. Paid 949.00 brand new. I remember the kx was exactly 1050.00. Lol

Hey Tony, Been watching your videos on the 85-88 era CRs recently as I'm doing a full resto-mod 86 CR500.. Trying to get the answer to this question.. Some dingleberry chucked the cartridge forks off this bike and bubba'd a set of 2003 YZ250 forks onto it. The modern XR650Ls have the 43mm Conventional Cartridge forks like the 1986-88 bikes had. Aside from valving, are they they exact same internals? Thanks

I had an 83 rm250 and that full floater rear end was fantastic for climbing really gnarly steep trails. I never raced it on a track just beat on it on trails. The cylinder sleeve must have been made of some soft steel. We rebuilt it almost every month. My neighbor who would rebuild it promised me it was not designed to run wide open for minutes at a time just corner to corner.😂

It started it all the first issue. Thank you for all the kind words . I got some footage of his memorial service in the Dez. His last ride. As well as some speeches from fans at the Arizona service. This hit me pretty hard not only did I loose a father but we all lost a legend

The word nuclear is pronounced ( new-cleer) it is not pro ounced (newk- yah-lur)....I dont know how that hillbilly pronunciation of nulear got started but there is a very large per e tage of our populous that believes that it is the correct one.. That to me is insane but yet its a true fact. Newk-yah-lur from nuclear... weird as shit man. Pure heard mentality stupidity.

Would’ve been cool if you added the values
